You know, I’ve never really bought the “golden age comic book hero’s == greek gods” thing. Comic book heroes tend to be exemplars of humanity. Greek Gods were personifications or explanations for the natural world. Their place in the world is very, VERY different. If you look at some of the greek heroes, not even the demi gods, then there’s some truth there. So Achilles, for instance, or Pericles, or Hercules, then yes.

    Perseus. Not Pericles, Perseus.

    oh for the love of…

Wishbone was a joke. He was never intended to be a real character, there was never any intention to play him. It was just a hilarious idea. People need to stop using him as an example of a bad/breaking character to create because I NEVER INTENDED TO MAKE HIM.

Shakma? Shakma I was really going to play.

I liked the discussion on superhero RPG’s. I think the system you choose should be based on the amount of choice & detail you’re looking for, and how much time and effort the group is willing to put into the campaign. My friends and I used to say about the superhero RPG’s out at the time, “If DC Heroes is the beer and pretzels of superhero RPG’s, then Champions is the champagne and caviar (and Marvel is the milk and cookies)”. I would recommend, if you have players that are looking for a high amount of customization/detail and are willing to dedicate more time and effort (and an especially dedicated GM), that you go with Champions. I have to believe that character creation software will make it a lot easier than it was, but it will still take extra effort. If the group doesn’t want to dedicate that much time/effort, Mutants and Masterminds would be a good choice. It still provides a good amount of customization, and is certainly accessible for those familiar with d20.
