Episode 134: Joss Whedon Geekery

Hosts: Megan, Scott, Todd

What’d we play (12:00):
Epic Spell Wars of the Battle Wizards: Duel at Mt. Skullzfyre
Red Dragon Inn
D&D Encounters
The Shadow of Yesterday

Main Topic: Joss Whedon and gaming (26:53)
What makes Joss Whedon

Joss Whedony? What can we learn from that to use in our games? We have a scintillating discussion about it with all sorts of pop culture references, then the one of us you love the most gets killed off and we turn evil.

Rants (1:11:10):
Todd: If you’re a Chicago cop, just be nice and give me a ticket.

Don’t be that guy.
Megan: If you’re going to GenCon, go see Glitter Guild Burlesque and do the Brimstone Drawing Club. Woot!
Scott: Yay! I’m less dependent on TV!

  1. Okay, I now need for us to return to our AW game, so I can play an adolescent Lennox as a transvestite. Queen of the Wasteland, indeed. But what playbook…

  2. THIS.

    MUST.

    HAPPEN.

The tempting thing is to say a Skinner, of course, but I kind of like it as something unexpected. Chopper. Hocus. Faceless, perhaps?

  3. What would a person become, with Rose, 8track and Tootles as a foster family? Hmmm…

  4. Hey Scott, whenever you finally get around to watching Crank, check out this episode of How Did This Get Made. Then go and watch Crank 2 and listen to the other podcast they did of that movie. Both the movies and the podcasts are amazing.

    Also, zombie drag queens! Hooray!

  5. How did this get made is a GREAT podcast. One of my favorites. And yeah, the episode on Crank 2 is one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard.
